Project description

The main objectives are to:

1. Investigate the following items with regards to AI models on Scalability, Transferability and Explainability:

  • Scalability and industrialisation - how to scale an AI model from Proof-of- Concept & pilot phases to operation phase, including the Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) lifecycle
  • Sharing of datasets
  • Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI), with a focus on trustworthy AI and its acceptance by railway experts explaining how the AI model achieve a certain decision
  • Lessons learned from both successful and unsuccessful projects
  • Identification of quick wins
  • Best practices from other sectors and industries
  • Sharing of pretrained artificial intelligence models
  • Future areas of exploration, such as AI standards, model transferability, and AI governance

2. Create a platform for cooperation between experts on AI

Deliverables

  • Guideline(s) on best practices, success stories, state-of-play Scalability of AI projects, transferability of AI models
  • Report(s) on AIST project activity
