33rd PASSAGE meeting held from 4 – 5 February 2020 in Bern

On 4 and 5 February 2020, the 33rd meeting of the Passenger Accessibility Solutions Support and Action Group for Europe (PASSAGE) Working Group was held at SBB headquarters in Bern, Switzerland. The meeting was hosted by Werner Jordan (SBB) and attended by representatives from Italy, Spain, Slovakia, Sweden, Czech Republic, Austria, Poland, Belgium and the Netherlands.

All the representatives reported on the latest news from their companies and from their countries about accessibility in the railways and the state-of-the-art regarding digitalisation of PRM (Passengers with Restricted Mobility) assistance.

Sandra Dobler, from CIT, was the external guest in charge of presenting the latest news regarding EU regulatory developments regarding accessibility and PRM assistance.
The members also had the opportunity to meet the team at SBB working to develop specific projects to enhance accessibility based on digital solutions.

The second day was devoted to the technical visit and the PRM Assistance Booking Tool. It was the opportunity for David Sarfatti (UIC) to present the latest statistics in the use of the UIC Booking Assistance Tool, whose activity is steadily growing by making international journeys.

The next meeting will take place in Ostend kindly hosted by NMBS/SNCB from 19 – 20 May 2020.
