On 1st December SNCB Logistics and DB Schenker Rail, DB’s rail freight company, announced the conclusion of an agreement for the creation of a joint railway production company called COBRA (“Corridor Operations Belgium Rail”). Both railway operators will join forces to offer high quality services and increased efficiency on the rail freight routes in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. The aim is to create competitive offers for customers and to reinforce the international position of both companies. COBRA will be run as a joint production company while all commercial activities will be further managed by each of the two operators (source: SNCB and DB Schenker).
