As part of the UIC Digital Mission Programme, a group of ten UIC-member executives visited the Headquarters of East Japan Railway Company on 24 October 2024.

Yuji Fukasawa, Chair of East Japan Railway Company, received a courtesy call from François Davenne, UIC Director General. They discussed the upcoming agenda for the December Executive Board meeting, as well as UIC’s standardisation strategy.

During the event, Shunzo Miyake, Senior Executive Officer of East Japan Railway Company, gave an opening speech, with Yoshihisa Nishimura, Executive Officer and General Manager of Innovation Strategy Headquarters, giving a presentation about JR East’s innovation strategy to the UIC Digital Mission.

The discussions were rich with insight being gained from both sides.
