UIC is pleased to announce that registration is now officially open for the 12th UIC World Congress on High-Speed Rail.
This prestigious global event will take place from 8 – 11 July 2025 in Beijing, China, under the inspiring theme: “Innovation and Development for a Better Life.”
Hosted by the China Academy of Railway Sciences (CARS) on behalf of the China State Railway Group (CR) and the International Union of Railways (UIC), the congress will bring together key players in high-speed rail from across the globe. Discussions will focus on innovation, future trends and global cooperation on high-speed technology, fostering new opportunities amid the rapid transformation of the global industrial and supply chains.
An event with a global reach
The congress will be a prestigious gathering attracting over 2000 participants from 30 countries, including senior government railway officials, executives from major railway enterprises, and leading technical and management experts in the field of high-speed rail.
Record-breaking Call for Papers
The Call for Papers was a huge success with over 800 submissions from experts, researchers and professionals from both the technical and management sectors of high-speed rail. This incredible response confirms the World Congress on High-Speed Rail as a premier event for global rail innovation and expertise.
Innovation and Development for a Better Life
This year’s congress will feature two high-level roundtable discussions and 30 academic parallel sessions. Under the theme “Innovation and Development for a Better Life”, the round table discussions will focus on technological innovation and the socio-economic impact of high-speed rail. Industry leaders and experts from around the world will share insights on six key topics: Artificial Intelligence & Digital Innovation, Infrastructure & Superstructure, Social-Economics, Environment & Commercial, Rolling Stock & New System Performance, System Operations & Passenger Experience, Network Development & Stations.
A tour of high-speed rail innovation
During the congress, participants will have the opportunity to take the Fuxing intelligent EMU train on the Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed rail line, the world’s first intelligent railway, and gain first-hand experience of the cutting-edge technological advancements of China’s high-speed rail industry. The Fuxing EMU train showcase and train ride will be launched at Asia’s largest railway test loop, where visitors will be able to get close to the CR450 EMU prototype.
The largest railway exhibition in Asia
The 17th Modern Railways, the largest railway exhibition in Asia, will take place in parallel to the 12th World Congress on High-Speed Rail. Focusing on key trends, developments and cutting-edge technologies and equipment in the railway industry, the exhibition will highlight 10 major railway segments, including rolling stock, track engineering / infrastructure, communication & signalling, and intelligence / information technology in both indoor and outdoor exhibition areas.
