Join us for the UIC Passenger Week from 13 to 16 April 2026 in Paris

The UIC Passenger Department is delighted to invite you to its first-ever Passenger Week, taking place from 13 to 16 April 2026 at the UIC Headquarters in Paris, with certain sessions also being available online.

This brand-new international event will bring together a varied community of stakeholders from across the passenger rail sector, including railway executives, mobility leaders, industry experts, associations, IT providers, institutional representatives, and academics. Over the course of four days, the participants will have meaningful networking opportunities, share expertise, and explore innovative solutions to shape the future of passenger mobility.

Passenger Week will offer a dynamic programme of technical sessions, open discussions, and high-level meetings, which are all designed to foster innovation in rail transport.


Programme overview

Monday 13 April, Technical Working Groups (on-site only)

The week will begin with sessions reserved for UIC working group members, including the East-West Tariffs and Timetable Expert Groups. These meetings will provide a space for in-depth technical discussions and project development.

Highlights of the Week:

Monday 13 April: (Expert Working Group Sessions – restricted access): A day dedicated to UIC working group experts, focused on technical collaboration and project development.

Tuesday 14 April (OPEN DAY): Our flagship day for experts, partners, and the general public!

  • Morning (working group sessions): The morning will include the Multimodal Door-to-Door Working Group (open session), as well as the continuation and conclusion of the private sessions of East West Tariffs and the Time Table Expert Group.
  • Afternoon (Conference):
    • Keynotes: Insights from François Davenne (Director General of UIC), Federica Santini (Presidente Trenord; Chief Strategy and Traveler Experience Officer, Trenitalia), Gautier Brodeo (UITP President), and Delphine Grandsart (European Passengers’ Federation).
    • Panel Sessions:
        Customer experience, the voice of passengers, roundtable moderated by Jörg Ostwald (Head of Product, Services and Events, Swiss Federal Railways SBB), with Simone Hérault (SNCF Voice) and Anne Bigand (Passenger Experience Director, Alstom).
        Quality of service for passengers and standardisation, presentations by Reiko Sasaki (Manager IT/Business Development, JR East), Seigo Mizuno (Senior Manager, JR West), Blaž Pongračič (Rail Policy Advocate, CER) and Oleksandr Shevchenko, Deputy Director for Business Development of the Branch “Passenger company” of JSC “Ukrainian railways”.
        The different roles of rail actors in driving sustainable mobility, roundtable moderated by Carles Casa Esplugas (Director of Strategic Planning & ESG at Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya) with Paul Van Doninck (Head of Public Affairs & International Relations, Jernhusen AB), Federica Follesa (Responsabile Contract Management Regionale - Direzione Operations Regionale presso Trenitalia S.p.A), and Sven Pöllauer (Head of PR, Marketing & Public Affairs, ÖBB).
        Developing innovative passenger solutions for passengers through UIC collaboration, roundtable with Fabrice Morenon (Managing Director, SNCF) and Vittorio Carta (Senior Manager Public Affairs Internationaler Fernverkehr).

Wednesday 15 April (restricted access): This day will host the Passenger Services Group (PSG) and the Global Passenger Forum (GPF) as well as working group Night Train and Top Rail.

Thursday 16 April (restricted access) working group meetings with the Station Managers Global Group (SMGG), Commuter and Regional Train Services (CRTS) and the Customer Experience Management Platform (CEMP) plus a technical visit to the impressive new RER E stations (Porte Maillot and La Défense).

Special Cultural Moment (restricted access): We are honored to conclude our sessions with a private cultural visit to the Musée d’Orsay, tracing its fascinating transformation from a majestic train station into a world-renowned museum. A visit to the Orient Express exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs is also offered.
