Agnete Johnsgaard-Lewis graduated from the University of Surrey (UK) in 1996 with a Master of Engineering in Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering.

With nearly 30 years of work experience in the petroleum industry, Ms Johnsgaard-Lewis has extensive experience of the efficient management of large projects in complex industrial settings. She has worked for Shell in a number of countries all over the world (Norway, the Netherlands, USA, Nigeria, Brazil and Brunei), and she has held the position of Country Chair & Managing Director of the national branch of Shell both in Norway and Brunei.

Agnete Johnsgaard-Lewis took up the position of CEO of Bane NOR on 1 September 2025.
